So what job roles does Rittal-CSM recruit into, and what are we looking for in prospective candidates?
Engineering plays a vital role across Rittal’s global business. Resolving the challenges we all face against a backdrop of major changes in technology, politics and economics remains at the forefront of Rittal-CSM. We’re always keen to hear from talented individuals who are qualified and experienced in Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering and Manufacturing/Design Engineering in the Technical Support Function (CAD based) as well as recent graduates.
For our Quality Engineering roles, we look for dynamic and professional candidates who understand the principles of product and service quality evaluation and control. You will take responsibility for the quality of the company's products, and be a keen problem solver.
You will be able to work as part of a team and work cross-functionally. Our Quality Engineers work with various stakeholders, at every part of the manufacturing process including the design team, suppliers, manufacturing teams and customers.
Even at the point of troubleshooting, quality engineering is about more than just identifying problems. We need our engineers to understand the underlying issues and develop successful fixes, changing practices where necessary to
ensure that standards are maintained.
For our Industrial Engineering roles, we look for candidates who will be responsible for optimising the production and manufacturing processes within our business. No two days will be the same and they could include anything from solving where machines should be located and integrating cobots onto the shop floor, to purchasing capital equipment or reducing the time it takes for each produced commodity to pass through the manufacturing process.
You will find ways to eliminate wastefulness in production processes. You will be able to devise efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to make our products.
You should be a creative individual who has the vision to design new production processes in many kinds of settings in order to reduce the use of material resources, time, or labour while accomplishing the same goal.
You will be a critical thinker with the ability to solve problems.
We need our Industrial Engineers to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to the problems.
Our Manufacturing/Design engineers are involved in the initial concept, design, development and management of projects. To succeed you will need strong technical knowledge, as well as communication, leadership and project management skills.
You will be able to use a range of 3D CAD and CAD Data Software, with particular focus on Creo, Inneo and Autodesk. You will have the ability to research and develop ideas for new products and the systems used to make them. You will also work to improve the performance and efficiency of existing products.
You will need to be good at problem-solving and generating new ideas.
We need our Manufacturing/Design Engineers to have the ability to work to tight deadlines and to work as part of a fast-paced team. Candidates will ideally have experience in the sheet metal fabrication industry.
Do you have an engineering qualification, preferably at degree level in mechanical/manufacturing engineering?
Do you have experience of working in a similar fast-moving, sheet metal manufacturing environment?

Our apprentices receive industry-leading training in the setting and operation of one or more of our sheet metal production activities, such as:
• Power Press
• CNC Piercing or Folding
• Press Brake
Relevant qualifications: ideally, candidates will have a minimum of Grade D, GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
Working under expert guidance you will receive a two-year, day release, Production Welding Apprenticeship programme, giving you comprehensive training in all production welding activities including:
• Manual MIG welding
• Manual TIG welding

Assembling and packing enclosures before despatch to customers.
