It was a double celebration for Rittal-CSM at the Plymouth Business Awards 2019.
The company was the “stand-out winner” on the night with two awards for ‘Large Business of the Year’ and the ‘Apprenticeship Development’.
All the awards on the night were hotly contested with the experienced judging panel initially faced with a huge mailbag of hundreds of entries, which were eventually whittled down to very high quality shortlists.
The news of Rittal-CSM’s success is yet another major milestone in an outstanding year for the company. In November 2018, it was named “Manufacturer of the Year 2018” at the Western Morning News’s Business of the Year event.
“I’m delighted,” says Dr Stephen Hobbs, Rittal-CSM’s managing director.
“The Large Business of the Year Award underlines that Rittal-CSM is one of the leading companies in the city, not just in manufacturing but across all sectors – and we’re still on an upward curve. We have further plans to expand and we aim to create another 80 jobs over the next 18 months.”
Dr Hobbs also expressed his satisfaction at winning the Apprenticeship Development award. “I’m very pleased that our focus here was recognised. It’s vital for us encourage the next generation of engineering talent, both to create a sustainable future for our business, and to help support a prosperous local economy.
“It also gives myself and my senior team immense satisfaction that many former apprentices continue with the company after their training and are now long-term employees.”
