Job Description:

Working within the Safety, Health and Environment Department, you will help plan, shape and execute key initiatives in line with Environmental Social Governance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Learning the requirements of the Environmental Management Systems as well as compliance standards ISO 14001.
  • Assist with identifying and supporting site environmental improvement projects.
  • Identify site waste streams, evaluate opportunities to reduce waste and implement alternative disposal methods to eliminate waste to landfill.
  • Promote energy consumption reduction as a key tool for site sustainability and identify plausible opportunities to reduce site energy use.
  • Educate contractors, visitors and site personnel on waste reduction, recycling and energy use.
  • Calculate and track performance against site and regional energy/environmental KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) on a monthly basis.
  • Provide environmental analysis for plant Risk Assessments
  • Assist with the management of site environmental incidents, hazards and environmental aspects.
  • Assist with other activities within the Environmental, Health and safety department, such as COSHH Assessments, problem solving sheets, close-out audit actions, signage on the factory floor etc.
  • Collect and manage data associated with environmental requirements, including inspections, auditing, and record retention.
  • Develop environmental articles for newsletter.
  • Assist with preparation and presentation of environmental trainings.
  • Overall department support and duties as assigned.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Must have a degree in an Environmental Science or similar discipline, with a grade of at least 2:2.
  • Organised and able to manage own time.
  • Great with people and a strong team player

  • Able to adapt to different situations.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to cope with physically demanding work.

This role will also offer you a brilliant rewards package which includes:

This is a full-time position, based on working Monday – to Friday, 39 hours a week.
