Rittal-CSM was established in 1981, and the Factory in Plymouth was set up in 1986. We manufacture the latest and most advanced system enclosures for both the IT and Industrial/Engineering markets.

We make a wide range of enclosures which are suitable for the toughest ambient conditions and ideal for a factory of the future. As well as designing and engineering OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacturer), we produce several standard enclosures such as our TS8 and EL Line.

What you’ll do:

Are you talented, enthusiastic and driven? If the answer is yes, then we are looking for people like you to join our team.  Working within the Environment, Health and Safety Department, you will help plan, shape and execute key initiatives in line with Environmental Social Governance.

Your role will include:

  • Learn the requirements of the Environmental Management Systems as well as compliance standards ISO 14001.
  • Assist with identifying and supporting site environmental improvement projects.
  • Identify site waste streams, evaluate opportunities to reduce waste and implement alternative disposal methods to eliminate waste to landfill.
  • Promote energy consumption reduction as a key tool for site sustainability and identify plausible opportunities to reduce site energy use.
  • Educate contractors, visitors and site personnel on waste reduction, recycling, and energy use.
  • Calculate and track performance against site and regional energy/environmental KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) on a monthly basis.
  • Provide environmental analysis for plant Risk Assessments.
  • Assist with the management of site environmental incidents, hazards, and environmental aspects.
  • Assist with other activities within the Environmental, Health and Safety department, such as COSHH Assessments, problem solving sheets, close-out audit actions, signage on the factory floor etc.
  • Collect and manage data associated with environmental requirements, including inspections, auditing, and record retention.
  • Develop environmental articles for newsletter.
  • Assist with preparation and presentation of environmental trainings.
  • Overall department support and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be working towards an Environmental Degree with a predicted grade of at least 2:2.
