Rittal-CSM’s team had three good reasons to celebrate at the Western Morning News Business Awards 2019.
The company achieved a hat-trick of major accolades – the much-coveted Business of the Year title, Manufacturer of the Year (for the second year running!), and the business was highly commended in the Apprentice Development award.
The result means that Rittal-CSM has won no less than five business awards over the course of the last 12 months in the face of outstanding local competition.
“This was totally unexpected, but I’m absolutely delighted,” says Dr Stephen Hobbs, Rittal-CSM’s managing director.
“We’ve been a sizeable organisation in Plymouth for the last 30 years but managed to stay under the radar until relatively recently! These awards have changed all that and I am extremely proud to say that we are now recognised as one of the leading companies and employers in the city.
Dr Hobbs continues: “While much of the current focus is on our apprenticeship development programme and our commitment to the next generation of engineering talent, it’s also right to pay tribute to longer-serving members my team – many of whom have been with us for decades. More than 100 staff have worked for us for more than 20 years, while nearly half our employees have been here for more than 10 years.
“We continue to support people throughout their careers because I see investing in the future of all our staff as a positive for the whole organisation. It’s largely thanks to their collective efforts that we’ve had such outstanding results over the last 12 months across both business development and expansion.
“We’re now fully focused building on our successes for the benefit of everyone involved.”
