A team from Rittal-CSM’s headed to UTC Plymouth’s Open Day on Saturday 29th September, to meet with prospective students interested in careers in engineering.
UTC Plymouth is a cutting-edge college for 14-19 year olds which specialises in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
As one of Plymouth’s foremost engineering employers, Rittal-CSM team has been closely involved with the college since it opened in 2013, and a large number of former students have since joined Rittal-CSM and forged successful careers.
Peter Bragg, Head of Sixth Form, Employer Engagement and Careers Lead at UTC Plymouth says: “Rittal-CSM have been a key supporter of UTC Plymouth from the get go. Its support has now developed into an integral element to the success of UTC Plymouth with a particular emphasis on supporting relative and exciting destinations for our engineering graduates.
“Rittal-CSM are highly involved in curriculum input, supporting UTC Plymouth to develop a curriculum that is not only fit for purpose, but one which also meets industry/labour demands and skill-set shortages.”
Alyson Kendall, who attended the Open Day as one of the Rittal-CSM team, says: “From our point of view, Saturday’s UTC Open Day was a great success. We really enjoyed meeting potential students along with their parents, many of whom came over to our stand to ask questions. It was great to hear their enthusiasm!”
